children. May affect young adults. The pancreas stops producing
insulin, thus resulting in diabetes. Type 1 diabetics must take
insulin.
Type Two Diabetes - Can occur at any age. Until recent years type two
diabetes was commonly called adult onset diabetes. In type 2 diabetes
the body still produces insulin. the body may not produce enough
insulin or may have an insulin resistance, thus causing high blood glucose
and type 2 diabetes. In some cases type 2 diabetes can be controlled
by diet and exercise. In other cases oral diabetes medications and or
insulin may be necessary.
Type 3 Diabetes - Type 3 diabetes occurs when a person
has both type 2 and type 2 diabetes.
Gestational Diabetes - Gestational diabetes occurs during
pregnancy. Once the pregnancy is over
gestational diabetes usually reverses.
